West Chester University
Multicultural Diversity Student Leadership Conference
This conference is funded in part by State Farm and the conference aims to provide leadership training for students to live in a diverse world. Additionally, it provides all students at West Chester University with an opportunity to broaden their definition of leadership and to participate in an event that celebrates diversity and difference in a spirit of inclusiveness.
Emerging Leaders Program
This program is based on WCU's belief that the University, community, and society need leaders with knowledge, skills, integrity and different backgrounds to effectively make change. Held in September.
America Reads Youth Mentoring Program
College students serving as mentors build positive relationships with children, provide homework assistance, enhance social skill development of youth, and facilitate educational games and extracurricular activities while developing their own professional skills.
Women Leading Up Leadership Series
Women students are invited to learn about women’s leadership issues and strategies for overcoming these challenges. As a result of participating in the program, women will gain more confidence and strengthen their belief in their own abilities. Registration is available in September via RamConnect.
Women of Color Day Celebration
All WCU women of color are invited to build community, celebrate each other’s achievements, and learn about mentoring opportunities. Registration is available in January via RamConnect. Event occurs in March
Cultivating Change Conference
Learn about activism opportunities, strategies, and how to create change in our community. Event occurs in February.
It’s On Us Violence Prevention Program
All students are invited to learn strategies to prevent sexual misconduct on campus through the It’s On Us initiative. Students are encouraged to recognize that non-consensual sex is sexual assault; identify situations in which it may occur; intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given; create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.
Offered September through April.
Lavender Graduation
Lavender Graduation celebrates graduating LGBTQA+ students and recognizes their many contributions and accomplishments. Registration is available early March via Center for Trans and Queer Advocacy.
Prepare for the Fair Day
Participate in resume reviews, practice job pitches, shop for free professional clothing, print resumes, and pick up a list of employers who will be attending the Job and Internship Fair.
Ruby Jones Conference on Race, Social Justice and Civic Leadership
Students are invited to explore leadership best practices through a multicultural lens and learn ways to work together in our ever-growing multicultural world. Registration begins in August via RamConnect.
